Hbf Karlsruhe - Renovation of the Listed Platform Roof

Platforms 101 and 102 at Karlsruhe Central Station are the starting and ending points of route 3443, a significant connection from Karlsruhe to Rhineland-Palatinate. As part of the renovation measures for the listed platform roof, the platform at track 101 was completely renewed, and the existing 42.5-meter platform roof was extended by an additional 50.4 meters. SD Engineering served as a BIM consultant from the design planning phase to the commissioning of the project, assisting the client with the implementation of BIM methodology and model verification. During the execution planning phase, extensive coordination meetings were held at the model to quickly address important issues regarding local conditions, including the listed structure. The project was completed on schedule, and the platform was put into operation on December 9, 2022. At the project’s conclusion, an as-built model was handed over for operation, with SD Engineering contributing to the development of requirements and acceptance.
