Frankfurt Main Station
BIM Project Controlling
The main train station is the most important traffic junction in the city of Frankfurt. Commissioned in 1888 with 18 tracks as "Centralbahnhof Frankfurt", it was then considered the largest train station in Europe. In 1924 the station was expanded to 24 tracks. In 1978 the underground station with four S-Bahn tracks was added. Today over 1,800 long-distance and local trains run to the main station every day.
The German Railway’s DB Station & Service AG is performing major upgrades on Frankfurts Central Station. Since October 2020, the distribution level and the north with are being modified and refurbished.
In addition to the restructuring of the existing distribution level or the reception hall building and the creation of a new distribution level, the entire building technology and fire protection systems will be renewed.
